Slaps BBQ has become a Kansas City legend, but it all started with brothers Joe and Mike Pearce, who first gained attention competing on the barbecue circuit. In 2014, they brought their award-winning recipes to Kansas City, Kansas, opening Slaps (an acronym for “Squeal Like A Pig”). What began as a small local spot quickly grew into a must-visit destination, drawing both locals and food travelers with its authentic smokehouse flavors and down-home atmosphere.
The menu has expanded from classic brisket and ribs to include hearty sides, inventive sandwiches, and rotating specials. Fans rave about the popular burnt ends, loaded fries, and house-made sauces, but many don’t realize there’s also a secret menu—hidden gems for those in the know.
