Blue Oak BBQ began in 2012 when friends Ronnie Evans and Philip Moseley set out to bring a fresh, fun twist to classic Southern barbecue in New Orleans. What started as a small pop-up quickly grew into a local favorite, eventually expanding to a brick-and-mortar spot near City Park. Word spread fast—thanks to their smoky, tender meats and creative sides—and Blue Oak BBQ became a go-to for both neighborhood regulars and visitors looking for authentic, yet modern, barbecue.
The menu has evolved beyond the basics, introducing inventive specials and a not-so-talked-about secret menu that only the most loyal fans know about.
While the spotlight shines on crowd-pleasers like ribs, smoked wings, and loaded sides, those in the know seek out hidden gems tucked away from the regular lineup.
