McCabe’s BBQ has been serving up smoky goodness since 1935, when B.L. McCabe opened a small barbecue pit in Manning, South Carolina. What began as a family-run spot quickly became a local favorite, drawing crowds with its slow-cooked pork, tangy sauces, and friendly hospitality. As time goes by, McCabe’s has expanded beyond its humble beginnings, but it never lost the charm that made it special.
The menu grew too—adding ribs, chicken, and Southern sides that kept regulars coming back. While most fans rave about the classics, few know that McCabe’s also offers a “secret menu,” with hidden gems like extra-crispy hushpuppies or off-menu barbecue combinations whispered about by loyal customers. Yet, despite all the changes and additions, the heart of McCabe’s BBQ is still its original pulled pork plate—smoked low and slow, just like it was generations ago, and still the dish everyone loves most.
